                                            PROF. WILLIAM OLUSOLA OLU-ADEROUNMU

I’m Prof. William Olusola Olu-Aderounmu born at Akure, Ondo State.

I attended St. John’s primary school and Oyemekun Grammar School Akure for my primary and secondary Education respectively.

I hold a B.Sc (1971) from Bishop College, Dallas, Texas USA. M.Sc (1974) from East Texas State University, Commerce Texas. Ed.D (1977) from Texas Southern University, Houston Texas. I specialized in Educational Management (Human Resources Development and Leadership studies).

Between 1974 and 2005 I Lectured at Texas University, Houston, Texas, as Teaching Fellow; Lagos State College of Education, Ijanikin where I rose to be the Dean of the School of Education. At Lagos State University as Senior lecturer and Pioneer Head of the Department of Educational Management; Professor of Educational management, Lagos State University 1992; Provost, Ondo State College of Education, Ikere , where I served unprecedented three terms in office; Consultant to UNICEF, UBE, NIEPA, World Bank and NDDC; Head post Graduate School, Lagos State University, Anthony Village Campus and pioneer Vice- Chancellor, Novena University, Ogume, Delta State. Between 2008 and 2009, I was facilitator, postgraduate programmmes, National Open University Ondo State Study Center Akure.

In February, 2010, I joined Oduduwa University as Vice-Chancellor. I was a member of Senate, Member, Business Committee of Senate; Member; Curriculum Development Committee; Member, Lagos State University Ventures Committee and a host of others within and outside the University system.

I have to my credit 49 authored and/ or edited books with well over 32 Journal Articles at both National and International levels mainly in Educational Administration, Statistics, Human Resources Development and leadership Studies. I have been a recipient of several National and International Awards .

I’m a member of many National and International Professional Associations and Editorial Consultant to many Journals. Among them are: Member, International Council on Education and Teaching, UK (ICET); American Association of School Administrators USA; Fellow, Society of Educational Administrators of Nigeria (FSEAN); Foundation Editor-in-Chief Journal of Educational Leadership {JOEL}; Fellow, chartered marketing communications Institute of Nigeria; (FCMIN) etc.

In addition to the above, I have rendered services in areas listed below:

a)     Led NUC- Sponsored Assessment of some colleges of Education in Oyo and Osun States for Degree Programmes.

b)    Appointed National Monitor by the NUC to audit Universities in the South East.

c)     I was part of the team that pioneered the Pre- Degree Programme in Nigeria at LASU 1984.

d)    Initiated and ran the first ever NCE sandwich programme Nigeria.

e)     Initiated and directed teachers’ vacation course programmes in Lagos State.
